Hello and welcome to my website.

I am Kandarp J. Shah, a researcher by interest and want to be by occupation. I just graduated from Boston University's College of Engineering with a post-graduate degree in Computer Systems Engineering. During my stint there, I also served as a Teaching Assistant for an introductory course in electronics, wherein I discussed undergraduate-level analog circuit design.  However, I can safely say that my work as a Research Assistant, focused mostly on Visible Light Communication, was my favorite part of life at BU. I worked in the Multimedia Communications Lab, which was later incorporated into the Smart Lighting Center, an impressive collaboration among Boston University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the University of New Mexico. What's more, our projects made news -- click here to read the entire gamut of coverage.

Post graduation, I have been busy working on a couple of interesting projects. While one of them is testimony to my sustained interest in visible light communication, the second deals with what I like to call The Embedded Advertisement. To know more about them, please click here.

My interest in this field was supported by my participation at the IEEE 802.15 Conference (TG7) earlier this year at Vancouver, made possible courtesy Prof. Little. I take a lot of pride in being a part of this conference discussing various possible protocols and standards at the MAC layer with smart people from industry heavy weights like Intel and Samsung.
