PostHeaderIcon Embedded Adverstisement In Video

This project involves computer vision and video processing to some extent. I would not like to give out the secret sauce but the basic idea is to provide uninterrupted high quality video to users. The idea is directed towards commercialization hence the bussiness model is more important.

PostHeaderIcon LCD-Image Sensor Transceiver

While working on visible light communication realized that we can easily use the LEDs in the backlight displays of various embedded devices for transmission. This was an obvious extrapolation. The image on the right shows the various layers in a LCD screen. My idea was to modulate the light source itself which is at layer 6. Each pixel of the LCD screen can be modulated too. This modulation will not be visible to the naked eye but its also difficult for the image sensor to detect. But if this is possible then the data rate becomes very high. If the screen is a 1280 x 800 resolution the data rate is directly a 1Mbps. But as I mentioned this would be difficult. Modulating the LEDs would be easier as it would just need a modulating circuit in addition but the data rate would be lower.

The other half of the transceiver pair is actually the more difficult part where an image sensor can actually receive the data in various ways.It can receive the data either by seeing the change in pixel intensity or the change in the backlight LEDs. Another interesting approach as mention in [1] was to encode the image being displayed on the LCD. It would be something like a complicated barcode.
